About us
Elliott Architecture & Design Ltd. are based in Prestwick, South West Scotland. We undertake commissions across Central Scotland and beyond, with the majority of our work involving residential design, new build, extensions and conversion work.
The practice is led by Oliver John Elliott (ARB), a qualified Architect with more than 20 years’ experience working in Architectural Design. Our ethos is based on three core principles which, in combination, aim to deliver high quality projects for our clients. Our approach to design is based on a commitment to the following:
Quality Design
In Architecture many factors may contribute to quality design and each project is different from the next. We recognise the importance of the client’s brief which is, in essence, the seed from which your design will grow. The brief is an instrumental design tool which both sets the scene and the boundaries. From there onwards attention to detail on all aspects of design are key to a successful outcome. Professionalisim is central to forging and maintaining good working relationships. This applies to our interactions with clients, consultants, contractors and other construction industry professionals. We listen to people and offer our clients appropriate, timely and impartial advice. We do this whilst striving to achieve the best design solutions for your project.
The Environment
Development of the built environment invariably has an effect on the natural environment. As a design based company we regognise the responsibility towards the natural environment and decisions taken during the design process can help in several ways. We specify sustainably sourced timber products. Green technology can be specified to help reduce your carbon footprint. Green roof construction and the use of trees and plants within the context of building design can help support wildlife, creating a more natural, relaxing setting for your project. Wherever possible, we aim to integrate architecture and nature, helping to improve the balance between the built and natural environment. At the end of each project we offer our clients a young native tree for planting as thank you and as a symbol of our commitment to nature.
